Product Description
1883-O Morgan Silver Dollar BU – Struck by the historic Old South facility in the heyday of the series, this vintage silver dollar still looks as if it just left the New Orleans Mint, even though that was more than 14 decades ago! Although the 1883-O's output of 8,725,000 was well below the 12.2 million business strikes produced by Philadelphia that year, it remains the most affordable Brilliant Uncirculated issue for the date. Our priced-right BU specimens feature nice luster and no sign of wear.
1885-O Morgan Silver Dollar BU – Huge quantities of Morgans were produced by operating mints during the early 1880s. But in 1885, just 9.2 million were output by New Orleans at a time when the facility was producing Morgan dollars exclusively. Many of those coins were stored in Treasury bags and later melted, leaving far fewer today than mintage numbers indicate. The 1885-S and 1885-CC BUs sell for $965 and $1,999 respectively, which by comparison makes our lustrous O-Mint specimens a fantastic bargain for the date!
