With a business strike of just 2.3 million Morgans, Carson City's 1890 output was the lowest of any facility that year. But like so many other issues of the series, much of its original mintage was held in storage as oodles of silver dollars were already in circulation... only to vanish decades later in government melts. Mint-state 1890-CC issues are hard to come by — and therefore pricey — but these Good to Fine specimens are an excellent alternative.
