U.S. 1896-O New Orleans and 1896-S San Francisco Morgan Silver Dollar Pair, Very Fine. These 1896 Morgans from the Rare Decade are a really tough find in mint-state quality. Today they each regularly retail for four figures. After production most of these coins were kept in reserve in Treasury bags and the vast majority later lost in government melts during the world wars. Fewer than 1% of either silver dollar remain in BU quality and that puts added pressure on circulated issues like our nicely detailed Very Fine specimens.
