The Granite Lady, as the San Francisco Mint was known, was one of the few buildings to escape the devastation of the historic 1906 earthquake and subsequent fires more or less unscathed – after a few minor repairs, it was back to producing coinage in no time. This 90% silver Barber dime and half dollar were struck that same year by the seemingly impervious branch mint. Good quality.
