Product Description
Above Average 1923-S Peace Silver Dollar Certified MS-63: Choice MS-63 coins are the "cream of the crop" in terms of BU grading. Of the 19 million Peace dollars struck by San Francisco in 1923, it's estimated that as few as one in 500 of its original output may exist today in mint-state condition. Of those surviving specimens, only a fraction qualify for this above average Choice MS-63 grade certification by PCGS or NGC.
Last of the Large Notes Series 1923 $1 Silver Certificate: Horse blanket notes (nicknamed as such for their commodious dimensions) are a favorite of collectors. The series 1923 $1 silver certificate was the final issue printed in large format for the denomination. These oversized notes were phased out later in the 1920s and as a cost-saving measure were reduced to the smaller size that we are familiar with today. Each of these notes could be redeemed for a big silver dollar on demand; a practice that ended in the 1960s. Features blue serial numbers and seals; ornate cogwheel back. Circulated quality.
