Billions of modern quarters are now produced by the U.S. Mint annually. But 100 years ago – even during the heady days of the Roaring Twenties – only 16.9 million Standing Liberty silver quarters were struck across three operating mints. While these 1924 Philadelphia specimens represented the majority of the year's mintage, many have since been lost through the passage of time and silver melts. These nicely detailed Very Fine specimens still display the masterful artistry of Hermon A. MacNeil's beautiful design.
