1925 Stone Mountain Silver Half Dollar BU – This single-date tribute was approved in 1925, just 60 years after the end of the Civil War. Gutzon Borglum – the sculptor later known for the Mount Rushmore Memorial – was responsible for the design of the commemorative coin that would help fund the carving of giant Confederate soldiers on the side of Georgia's Stone Mountain. The obverse of the 90% silver half dollar depicts Generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson on horseback. American Eagle reverse. BU quality.
1970 Stone Mountain 50 Stamp Mint Sheet – Did you know that the Stone Mountain Memorial carving is the largest bas-relief artwork in the world? The project was first conceived in the 1910s, but faced decades of delays and disputes before its completion in 1972. This intact mint sheet of vintage 6¢ stamps was issued by the USPS for the 1970 dedication of the giant Civil War monument.
