These 1928 $5 Legal Tender Notes were the first and last of their denomination printed in the small size we are familiar with today, making them of particular interest to collectors. Introduced during the Civil War, the red seal LTNs were the longest-issued type of U.S. paper currency – printed in various forms for nearly 11 decades! Although still considered valid currency, these notes rarely turn up in day-to-day commerce. Circulated condition.
