Product Description
The Franklin half dollar was expected to be issued for at least 25 years, but the series was abruptly curtailed following the assassination of President Kennedy. The Franklin series proved to be the last of its kind completely struck with traditional 90% silver content, unlike current circulating coins which are now clad. This 1958-D issue had a mintage of 23.9 million — which may seem like a lot — but just four years later the output for the final Denver Mint Franklin was 67 million! More than 60 years later, only a limited number of these specimens remain today in mint-state quality.Product Videos
