This was the last date the Roosevelt dime was struck with 90% silver content for commerce. After 1964, the U.S. Mint phased out silver coinage in circulation. Over the years as the value of silver has risen many coins like these were lost to melts. This pair of Brilliant Uncirculated 1964 Philadelphia and Denver dimes managed to escape use in commerce and instead remain as nice as the day they were minted.
