Product Description
First San Fran Set 1968 Proof Set: A magnificent new era of American coinage began in 1968, with the release of San Francisco's first proof set – and since then, Fog City's collector's sets have come to be regarded as the finest minted in U.S. history. Each specimen in this five-coin set exhibits precision-struck engravings and mirror bright fields. It is also home to one of the last 40% silver Kennedy half dollar dates.
Ike Included 1977 Proof Set: This six-coin proof set was one of the last to include a big Eisenhower dollar alongside the cent through half dollar denominations. The set emerged soon after the San Francisco Mint introduced frosted engravings to heighten the beauty and elegance of its proofs. Its 3.2 million mintage was substantially lower than some other sets of the decade.
Low Mintage 1986 Proof Set: Only 2.4 million of these five-coin proof sets were issued by the San Fran Mint in 1986. That mintage proved to be the lowest output for any U.S. proof set for a generation – from 1961 through 1992. Included are exquisite proofs of all five U.S. denominations for the date: cent, nickel, dime, quarter and half dollar.
