Product Description
1969, 1970 & 1985 Proof Set Trio – This collection boasts 15 coins in total; each issue contains five specimens that showcase the excellence of the San Francisco Mint. Featuring a 40% silver Kennedy half, the 1969 proof set's output of 2.9 million was the second lowest of the 1960s. In 1970, no half dollars were struck for commerce; the last 40% silver issue could only be found in the year's 2.6 million proof sets. While the 3.4 million proof sets produced in 1985 may seem like a lot, many were later harvested for individual issues, leaving far fewer intact today.
1977, 1989 & 1992 Mint Set Trio – Home of the second-to-last Ike dollars, just two million 12-coin mint sets were produced in 1977; far fewer than the matching date proof set. The 1989 mint set contains 10 perfect BU specimens of the year's cent, nickel, dime, quarter and half dollar struck by the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. A steady decline in the number of Uncirculated sets produced each year began in the late 1980s and early 1990s; to date, mintages have not exceeded 1992's output of 1.5 million.
