This collection boasts 15 coins in total; each issue contains five specimens that showcase the excellence of the San Francisco Mint. Featuring a 40% silver Kennedy half, the 1969 proof set's output of 2.9 million was the second lowest of the 1960s. In 1970, no half dollars were struck for commerce; the last 40% silver issue could only be found in the year's 2.6 million proof sets. While the 3.4 million proof sets produced in 1985 may seem like a lot, many were later harvested for individual issues, leaving far fewer intact today.
