Product Description
The U.S. Mint did not issue complete all-denomination proof sets until 1936, the year after the last circulation U.S. silver dollar was struck. So it was not until the traditional-size Eisenhower dollar emerged decades later that a dollar was included in U.S. proof and mint sets. The 6-coin 1973 San Francisco Mint proof set was the first to contain an Ike dollar - added to the cent, nickel, dime, quarter and half dollar denominations.
The 13-coin mint set of 1973 was the largest up to the time, containing perfect Brilliant Uncirculated specimens of all circulation coinage for the date, including large Eisenhower dollars from the Philadelphia (no mintmark) and Denver (D) mints - in addition to P & D cents, nickels, dimes, quarter and half dollars plus a San Francisco (S) cent.
