Highly Collectible & Scarce Format – When the U.S. Mint introduced commemorative half dollars and dollars in the early 1980s, they were sold individually and as part of ultra-low mintage Prestige proof sets. But these special edition sets flew under the radar as most collectors bought their commemorative silver proofs individually and most proof set buyers continued to acquire the standard clad sets each year. The result is that Prestige proof sets have become by far the scarcest form of these coins.
