This impressive silver dollar was issued to commemorate the sacrifice of law enforcement officers and their families in preserving public safety. Shown are two officers making a rubbing at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C. On the reverse is a shield and a rose with the inscription, To serve and protect. Currently, there are 19,660 names on the Memorial with more added each year. Mintage for this finest quality proof issue was just 110,428.
