Unlike the regular 2005 U.S. proof set, it includes seven 90% silver issues: the five 2005 Statehood quarters (California, Minnesota, Oregon, Kansas and West Virginia) plus the Roosevelt dime and Kennedy half dollar. The Lincoln cent, American Bison and Ocean in View nickel and Sacagawea dollar are also included. Each proof coin features double-struck frosted engravings and mirror fields. Its 1.1 million mintage was far below the regular proof set's.
