Product Description
The U.S. Mint offered this impressive commemorative in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Louis Braille's birth. Blinded at a young age, the teenaged Braille invented a means of communication using six raised dots. Today Braille is used worldwide by the blind to read and write. This innovative issue is the first U.S. coin to include readable Braille. Far fewer Brilliant Uncirculated coins were output compared to proof issues making this a more desirable collectible.
Please note that our modern commemoratives are not always available in the original mint packaging.
