About Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park:
- Located in Woodstock, Vermont, this is the nation's only park dedicated to conservation and land stewardship.
- The park was formerly home to three generations of conservationists: George Perkins Marsh, Frederick Billings and later his granddaughter, Mary Rockefeller and husband Laurance.
- Marsh was one of the first Americans to recognize the direct impact that humans had on their environment, while Billings was a pioneer in reforestation efforts and scientific farm management.
- The Rockefellers donated the Marsh-Billings residential estate along with 550 acres of forestland to the National Park Service in the early 1990s which operates in partnership with Billings Farm and Museum.
