The first release of 2022 pays homage to Rhode Island's famous, lighting-fast racing yacht, Reliance. Her leviathan proportions and innovative design by naval architect and Rhode Island native, Nathanael Herreshoff, made Reliance the biggest single-masted sailboat ever built. Her mast stood a staggering 200 feet above water and her sails tipped the scales at an astonishing four tons, but despite her stature she easily won America's Cup in 1903. Common obverse depicts the Statue of Liberty and a privy mark of a stylized gear. Edge incused date and D-mintmark. Brilliant Uncirculated quality.Product Videos
