The U.S. Mint has not produced the Kennedy half dollar for circulation for more than two decades and it has only been minted in limited numbers for sale directly to collectors. Current Kennedy half dollar mintages have fallen to just a tiny fraction of previous outputs. The new 2024 reverse of the small dollar recognizes the Indian Citizenship Act which was signed into law in 1924. It granted U.S. citizenship to "all non-citizen Indians born within the territorial limits of the United States."
