Product Description
Issued by the U.S. Mint each year, these small golden-colored dollars give recognition to the important contributions made by Native Americans to our nation's history. These coins are now only produced for collectors.
This 2024 issue recognizes the Indian Citizenship Act which was signed into law in 1924. It granted U. S. citizenship to "all non-citizen Indians born within the territorial limits of the United States." The Act notably allowed individual Indian people to preserve their tribal identity and their right to communal tribal property. The act gave American Indians all the rights and protections afforded to citizens of the United States. It also added to the diversity of thought and culture of our nation by unlocking the doors for native people to become citizens of the United States on their own terms.
The 2024 design shows an eagle staff, an American Indian symbol of respect, honor, and patriotism, together with an American flag to represent the dual citizenship of Native Americans. Our two-coin set includes both a Philadelphia and Denver issue in Brilliant Uncirculated quality.
