While in office as the 32nd President of the United States, Roosevelt lobbied for the creation of more stamps and would sometimes offer his own ideas and topics for designs  this series was one of his suggestions. It honored distinguished military leaders from the American Revolutionary War through the Spanish American War. Five stamps apiece were dedicated to heroic leaders from the Army and Navy and were issued in pairs beginning in 1936. This super affordable octogenarian stamp collection is still in mint condition and is highly collectible. This vintage set is sure to delight military and history buffs alike!
