Product Description
Issued nearly a century ago, these 50% silver German reichsmarks commemorated the first around the world flight by the airship Graf Zeppelin. During its years of service, the craft made a remarkable 590 flights and traveled more than a million miles, but the death knell would sound for all dirigibles following the 1937 Hindenburg disaster. The nonagenarian three reichsmark features the engraving of the famous airship superimposed over a world map. On the obverse is the German Imperial Eagle. In our About Uncirculated condition, all designs are clearly detailed and some luster remains.
