The Coinage Act of 1965 brought with it the end of 90% silver content traditionally used in circulating U.S. coins. The dime and quarter became copper-nickel clad, and the precious metal content of the half dollar was reduced to 40% from 1968 until 1970, after which it was eliminated entirely, save for the 1976 Bicentennial issue. We'll select a combination of three superlatively minted 40% silver proofs from 1968, 1969, 1970 or 1976. Double-struck engravings and dazzling mirror surfaces.
