No need to shell out for this trio of shell casing wartime wheaties! You get a sale price, plus we'll also include a FREE 1943 steel cent! During WWII copper was a critically important resource and available supplies – including for coinage – were diverted to the war effort. Copper pennies were replaced with zinc-coated steel in 1943, but as they proved to be less than ideal, the Mint instead began using recycled shell casings from 1944 to 1946. We'll choose three different 1944-1946 shell cents and a FREE steel specimen in Circulated condition. Date and mintmark combinations of our choice.
