Product Description

The pitcher bore a strong resemblance to a baseball card's depiction of Nolan Ryan, but the Mint denied any influence. The reverse combines the Olympic rings with the stars and stripes. Sales helped raise funds for an Olympic training facility. Over two-and-a-half times as many proof issues were produced making this Brilliant Uncirculated type a tougher find.
