After two years of featuring a Bicentennial design, in 1977 the Eisenhower dollar design reverted back to its original Apollo 11 engraving. That image honors America's triumphant space program that began during Eisenhower's presidency. This S-mint proof was only issued as part of the 1977 proof set and had to be broken out to be available individually.
