Early Kennedy half dollar outputs ranged from 65.8 million to 295 million, so there was no need for more by 1970. But collectors were not informed that Denver Kennedy half dollars would not be output for commerce and just 2.1 million 1970 mint sets were sold making this a key issue. The U.S. Mint stopped issuing silver coins for commerce in 1970, therefore that years Kennedy half dollar was the last regular issue containing silver. Brilliant Uncirculated quality.
