Product Description
Due to the repeal of the Sherman Silver Purchase Act in 1893, merely 300,000 Morgan dollars were struck for circulation by the New Orleans Mint. It was that facility's smallest production in the entire series. Today a silver dollar encyclopedia estimates that as few as 13,000 may exist in our clearly detailed Very Fine quality or higher grades. It's the second rarest New Orleans issue in the Morgan dollar series.
