Among 20th century Morgan dollars, 1901 is by far the toughest date to find in Brilliant Uncirculated quality. The total number of 1901 BUs surviving is less than half that of its closest competitor (the 1900 date). Of the three 1901 issues, only the O-mintmark New Orleans Mint Morgan is still affordable in BU quality. Authoritative estimates indicate that some earlier Morgan issues are well over ten times as plentiful in mint-state quality. But 1901-O BUs generally cost not much more. Our Brilliant Uncirculated quality has nice original luster and no sign of wear (some bags marks are present, as is normal).
