Product Description
Congress imposed a quota on the minting of Peace dollars: not to exceed the number of Morgan dollars melted during World War I. By 1925, the San Francisco Mint output had dwindled to 1.6 million, vastly reduced from 19 million in 1923. Today as few as 22,000 (just 1%) of the 1925-S production are estimated to survive in mint-state quality (a good deal more exist in circulated grades). Our Brilliant Uncirculated quality has attractive luster and no wear (some bag marks are present, as is normal).
