Product Description
In the early 1930s during the Great Depression, coin output was greatly curtailed. No silver dollars were issued at all from 1929 to 1933. In 1934, as part of President Franklin Roosevelt's economic recovery plan, the U.S. Treasury was again required to purchase silver bullion and produce silver dollars. The 1934 Peace series had a relatively limited production and only a small portion of these coins are thought to remain; it's estimated that only about 7% of the 1934-D mintage exists today in a collectible state. Clearly detailed Very Fine quality. Diameter 38.1mm, Weight 26.73 grams, Composition .900 silver
