Product Description
After the Peace series' quota was reached in 1928, minting was suspended by Congress. Six years later, in the depths of the Great Depression, the U.S. government decided to revive the series in the hope of helping the struggling economy. The final 1935 Philadelphia mintage of just 1,576,000 was only about 2% of the massive 1922 production. Only a small portion of those are extant today in our Very Fine quality, or higher grades.
