If you had to lug around 16 silver dollars, they would add almost an extra pound to your frame! But weighing a combined three grams and sporting a face value of $16, this trio of svelte silver certificates offered their bearer both convenience and exceptional portability over the equivalent number of hefty silver dollars they represented. Printed with a distinctive blue seal from the 1920s and into the '50s, these small size notes promised to redeem silver on demand and could be exchanged for silver dollars. However, the Treasury discontinued the redemption option in the 1960s as the market price of silver began to exceed the face value of these certificates. Our set includes a $1, $5 and $10 bill in Circulated condition. Actual size 6.125" x 2.5". Our choice of dates based on availability.
