Product Description
1878-CC Morgan Silver Dollar XF – Every collector should have at least one Carson City Morgan silver dollar in their collection, so here's your opportunity to lasso yourself a first year, sharply detailed Extra Fine 1878-CC specimen! Carson City's inaugural output of 2.2 million Morgans was extremely limited in comparison to those produced by Philadelphia and San Fran that same year. In average mint-state condition, this first Wild West date sells for over $1,300 which makes this XF quality particularly tempting!
1883-CC Morgan Silver Dollar XF – The isolated Carson City Mint in Nevada struck just 1.2 million Morgan dollars in 1883, about one-tenth the Philadelphia output. Today the 1883-CC issue is far and away the most elusive for the date. Top-tier specimens of this coin have sold in the past for over $80,000! While most collector's pockets aren't that deep, the silver lining is that this CC issue is wonderfully affordable by comparison in our lightly circulated Extra Fine quality. In fact you pay less than our regular price for lower grade Very Fine.
1890-CC Morgan Silver Dollar XF – The 1890-CC issue remains a key scarcity today – it had a far lower mintage than the year's Philadelphia, New Orleans and San Francisco individual outputs and a disproportionately small number have survived to our day. The coveted CC mintmark appears below the eagle and wreath on the reverse. It's getting tougher and tougher to find this issue in any numbers.
1893-CC Morgan Silver Dollar XF – The legendary Carson City Mint struck its last coin in 1893. Before closing its doors on the production of coinage, just 677,000 Morgan silver dollars were output. Today it's the third rarest Carson City issue. Our sharply detailed Extra Fine quality is elusive in its own right, but far more affordable than extremely scarce mint-state specimens which sell for five to six figures! Perhaps fewer than 20,000 pieces are extant in circulated and higher grades. Don't miss the chance to add this treasure to your collection!
