Product Description
1883 Morgan Silver Dollar XF – Morgan mintages steadily rose in the 1880s due to the plethora of silver found in Western mines. Instead of being released into circulation after striking, a large portion of these 1883 Philadelphia issues were held in reserve and later lost to melts. Experts contend that as little as 3% of the original output may survive in mint-state condition and those specimens sell for nearly $300. Our lightly circulated Extra Fine issues are a great option for the budget conscious.
1887 Morgan Silver Dollar XF – This 1887 Philadelphia Morgan silver dollar was struck as mintages were peaking in this popular series. More than 20 million were struck at the principal mint that year. A vast number were held in storage at the Treasury, and later melted down during the two world wars. Fourteen decades later fewer than 15% of the original mintage is estimated to survive in XF condition or higher grades. These specimens display sharp detail at an excellent price point.
