Product Description
1897-O Morgan Silver Dollar VF: In 1897, the New Orleans Mint struck a mere four million Morgan dollars. Nearly 13 decades later the 1897-O is a coveted rarity: experts estimate that as few as 5,500 may remain in mint-state condition. As garden-variety, average BUs retail for over $3,000, many collectors opt for 1897-O Morgans that have spent time in circulation, like these Very Fine quality specimens.
1897-S Morgan Silver Dollar VF: The three 1897 Morgan silver dollar mintages (Philadelphia, New Orleans and San Francisco) amounted to the lowest combined outputs for the series in the late-1890s, when production was far less than during the 1880s. As expected this San Francisco issue is well regarded for the quality of its minting. In our clearly detailed Very Fine quality, it is markedly scarcer than some earlier issues that cost as much or more.
