Product Description
1943-1946 Lincoln Cent 4-Coin Set VF – During WWII, copper destined for U.S. coinage was instead diverted to the war effort. In 1943, the mint issued a pioneering steel cent, but its composition created problems in commerce. Pennies struck from 1944 to 1946 were minted with copper retrieved from recycled shell casings. These historic coins are no longer found in pocket change and are getting harder and harder to locate. Our four coin set includes an example of each date in Very Fine condition. Our choice of issuing mint based on availability.
