Product Description
1955 PROOF SET – Just 378,200 of these 1955 sets were output 70 years ago; no other regular U.S. proof set issued since then has had a mintage anywhere near as low. Some sets were broken up for coveted Franklin silver half dollar proofs, which were issued only as part of complete sets. Not many sets are ever available in the pristine quality we offer. Packaging for early proof sets may vary. Original U.S. Mint packaging is not always available or desirable.
1956 PROOF SET – Merely 669,384 were issued by the U.S. Mint in the year that President Eisenhower won a second term. Only one other standard proof set date since has been below a million, and most have been several times higher. These were the finest-quality proof specimens of the date's cent, nickel, and three silver denominations: dime, quarter and half dollar. Packaging for early proof sets may vary. Original U.S. Mint packaging is not always available or desirable.
1957 PROOF SET – One of the most affordable collector's sets of the 1950s is this 1957 issue, whose mintage of 1.2 million was much lower than later proof set outputs which soared to as high as 4 million. It was among the last to include a 90% silver dime, quarter and half dollar. Fewer 1957 proof sets remain intact than mintage numbers suggest – many have since been raided for individual Franklins that were only found in these five-coin sets. Packaging for early proof sets may vary. Original U.S. Mint packaging is not always available or desirable.
