Denver's 1962 and 1963 Franklin silver half dollars would unknowingly become the series' last two dates ever minted. Production was slated to continue for another 10 years, but the Franklin design came to an abrupt end after the assassination of President Kennedy in late 1963, and was hurriedly replaced with a memorial tribute to the fallen leader.Product Videos
