Product Description
When the U.S. Mint introduced special commemorative issues in the 1980s, they were sold individually and as part of Prestige proof sets. Most collectors bought their commemorative proofs individually, and most proof set buyers continued to acquire regular 5-coin sets each year. The result is that Prestige proof sets have become by far the scarcest form of these coins. The very low 55,000 mintage for the 1996 Prestige proof set was the smallest Prestige proof set mintage ever and just over 3% of the year's regular proof set production. The five regular annual issues are included, as well as the commemorative Olympic Rowing silver dollar and Olympic Soccer clad half dollar proofs.
