When World War II erupted in 1939, the German government suspended the minting of this hard-asset silver coin. Most were later melted as emblems of the infamous Nazi regime. The 1936-1939 silver 2 mark portrayed the late President Hindenburg, who outpolled Hitler in the 1932 national election. Very Fine quality.
