This impressive coin was issued to mark the quincentenary anniversary of Christopher Columbus' 1492 landing in America. He is shown taking his first steps in the new world. On the reverse are his three ships, the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. This copper-nickel issue is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Far fewer BUs were issued than proof specimens.
