Product Description
Since 1992, the U.S. Mint has issued special silver proof sets annually in addition to regular base-metal proof sets, reviving the tradition of 90% silver dimes, quarters and half dollars. This much scarcer 5-coin 1996 silver set had mintages of just 623,655. That's only about one-third of the production of the regular proof set for that year. Each coin features finest quality proof minting with crisp, double-struck engravings and dazzling mirror backgrounds.
