Product Description
This first small cent used in American commerce set the size standard for all future U.S. pennies. It was the nation`s first copper-nickel coin, known as the white cent or nick (it replaced 100% copper large pennies). The spectacular Flying Eagle engraving was quickly retired after just two years, due to minting problems. The antebellum reverse entwined the North`s corn and wheat and the South`s cotton and tobacco. Our Fine set includes all three regular issues (1857, 1858 small letters and 1858 large letters).19mm
