As few as 73,000 (just 0.6%) of the 1887-O issue are estimated to exist in BU quality today. That's one of the very lowest survival rates in the Morgan series. An unusually large proportion were held in reserve and lost in government melts during the world wars. Our Brilliant Uncirculated quality has nice original luster and no sign of wear (some bags marks are present, as is normal).
