It's the only BU Morgan dollar of the early 1890s that's so affordable today. As few as 2% of the Philadelphia 1890 production survives in mint-state quality. Earlier issues in the series that cost the same can be up to ten times as plentiful in Brilliant Uncirculated quality. The 1890 Sherman Silver Purchase Act was revoked two years later in a financial crisis, leading to the lowest mintages in the series in 1893-1895.Our Brilliant Uncirculated quality has nice original luster and no sign of wear (some bags marks are present, as is normal).
