After the first five issues of 1878-1882, mint-state San Francisco Mint Morgan issues tend to be elusive and costly. The only exceptions from 1883 to 1904 are the 1890-S and 1891-S BU issues. However, the 1891-S Morgan's mintage was considerably lower and it's estimated that as few as 60,000 may survive in mint-state quality, making it a best buy for San Francisco Mint issues from the rare decade. Our Brilliant Uncirculated quality has nice original luster and no sign of wear (some bags marks are present, as is normal).
