Product Description
Mintages of Peace dollars plummeted in the late 1920s. The 1927-S Peace dollar's production of 866,000 was less than 5% of the 1922-1923 averages and was the lowest for the San Francisco Mint in the entire series. Today just a small proportion survives in nicely detailed Very Fine quality or better grades. Some earlier Peace dollar issues are almost a hundred times more available than the 1927-S. Our clearly detailed VF quality saw some use in commerce when a big U.S. silver dollar had real buying power.
